Steroids are a class of hormones with powerful anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. In order to improve embryo implantation for in vitro fertilisation (IVF) or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles, the use of glucocorticoids has been advocated to improve the intrauterine environment. So the research did not show any evidence that steroids helped to improve live birth rates. However, there was some evidence of increased pregnancy rates, rather than live birth rates, among women undergoing IVF. This was not found in women undergoing ICSI. More research is needed to elucidate the possible role of this therapy is well-defined patient groups. At p4 fertility, we personalise the treatment based on your clinical history and test results.
